Carita Peltonen is also known as “Mama Woods”, and there is a reason for it: Metsä/Skogen grew out of her personal experience and awakening. Carita – having undergone work-related exhaustion – felt the forest had an immensely healing effect on her. She wanted to recreate the experience for people who are not able to visit a real forest. The idea of bringing the woods in the middle of the city arose. Metsä/Skogen was created. Carita created the concept from scratch and found a team with matching dedication to bring it to fruition. Carita is responsible for the development and management of Metsä/Skogen.
Metsä/Skogen makes the healing forest accessible to everyone. Come to our forest for an invigorating respite, enjoy the aromas from nature and taste our delicacies. You can curl up in a hanging nest for a nap. Metsä/Skogen is a multisensory experience just like a real forest. It is an ecological concept store that offers products and services that draw from the abundance of the Northern forest and its refreshing, calming energy. It is a holistic lifestyle concept celebrating slow living.
